A Vanilla Chai Your Mornings Will Crave

The only issue is the inevitable crash in a couple hours when your system gets over the glucose surge.

Frozen Vanilla Chai Protein Shake
- 1 level scoop of Terra Origin’s Vanilla Chai Plant Protein
- 1 cup of vanilla coconut or vanilla almond milk
- ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- a pinch of nutmeg
- a pinch of cinnamon
- ¼ cup espresso
- 1 tbsp of sunflower seed butter*
- 1 tbsp chia seeds (after blending for full seed or blended for even mix)
*Any nut butter will do, but sunflower seed or cashew are the best!

It can be blended the night before and frozen, making it the right consistency by the time you get to work. If you make it the morning of, try swapping the espresso for five strong coffee ice cubes.
If you like your drinks a bit creamier, ½ avocado or 1 small frozen banana will add in smooth richness. The avocado will be less of a flavor changer, as its mild taste will be covered by the spices.
Be sure to give the chia seeds time to absorb some liquid.
If it’s too thick, add more of your milk of choice. If it’s too thin, try adding whole cashews, pre-soaked are even better! Or for a lower fat option, ½ cup of gluten-free oats adds depth, texture, fiber and even more protein.
For a spicier blend, black pepper can be added, or if you like it sweet, molasses or maple syrup to taste are both excellent additions.
Top with cashew cream and a dark chocolate syrup for true decadence. Add a few cacao nibs for a tasty crunch.
