Insider Tips from Beauty Influencer Corrine Reed

We were very fortunate to get a private interview with one of New York’s finest beauty and fashion influencers. She has shared her trade tips and secrets to maintaining a healthy and glowing complexion all year long. Take a look at her personal skin care habits and favorite products.

Hello Corrine! Could you share with us a little bit about yourself and how you became a trusted voice in the beauty industry?

Hi everyone! My name is Corrine, and I'm a beauty and fashion influencer in NYC. I've been dabbling in skincare for years now and am obsessed with keeping my skin youthful & fresh! About three years ago, I had just graduated from college and wasn't feeling particularly connected with the work I was doing. I began watching YouTube videos on ways to create a healthier lifestyle and fell in love with some amazing beauty and lifestyle content creators! From there, I decided I had nothing to lose and started creating content of my own.

Wow! That is a great way to get started and follow what you’re passionate about. I must say, your face is flawless! Would you mind sharing with us your skin care routine secrets and must haves!

I think the more simple your skincare routine, the better. As long as you have an SPF, a good moisturizer, an eye cream, and some kind of chemical exfoliant-- you're good to go. In the morning, my routine is pretty simple. I wash my face and apply my moisturizer right away. My morning moisturizer has an SPF of 50. My nighttime routine takes a bit more time. After I shower, I will use my chemical exfoliant about three times a week, apply my moisturizer and my eye cream. That way, all of the amazing products can really sink into my skin while I'm sleeping.

Sounds great, I’m ready to give it a try! Is there one thing we should never do to our skin?

Go tanning, especially in a booth! A little sunshine can be good for you, but excessive exposure to UV rays can cause cancer and early aging!

I couldn’t agree more. And how did you hear about Terra Origin?

Through my job as a blogger, I'm able to test out & review different skincare and wellness products. I love how Terra Origin follows holistic principles and has healthy simple ingredients in their products.

That we do. It’s very important to us to give people what their bodies need most. Out of the Terra Origin skin care products you have tried, do you have a favorite?

I don't think I can pick a favorite...everything I've tried is so great!

Well we are delighted to hear that! When you go shopping for skin products, what are things you try to avoid? And what should we look out for?

When it comes to skincare, the less ingredients the better. I tend to go with the logic, if I can't pronounce it or I don't know what it is, I probably shouldn't be putting it on my face or in my body.

That’s very practical, and I believe it applies to all things that we use in or on our bodies. If you could only do one thing for your skin each day, what would it be?

Use an SPF!  My mother taught me well...

Do you have any insider tips on common skin problems like oily t-zones, aging or colorations?

For people with oily skin, don't be afraid of moisturizing! I think it's a common misconception that if you have oily skin you shouldn't be using moisturizing products, it's actually the opposite. If you deprive your skin of moisture, it will get even MORE oily. For aging skin, I think the two most important things are water & retinol. Actually, I think most skin concerns can be fixed by drinking more water.

That is so true! I love the tip on moisturizing. You’re right, we tend to not apply creams when we have oily skin. As for all those youthful skinned people out there, what piece of beauty advice would you give them to maintain that glow?

Drink lots and lots and lots of water and keep your face out of the sun! :) Self-tanner is my best friend!

Back to very practical advice. I love that skin care doesn’t have to be overly difficult. As a final question, do you have any advice for those whose skin shows sun and time? Is it too late to start taking care of their skin? What’s the best way for them to get started?

It's never too late to start working on your skincare routine! Like I said earlier, all you need is a simple skincare routine. Just stick to a few simple moisturizing products, and I can guarantee you'll see a difference.

Thank you so much for all your trade secrets and sensible information. We were very happy to speak with you and look forward to putting your advice into practice!
