And while both simple and complex carbohydrates are converted to glucose (blood sugar) in the body for energy, complex carbs have naturally occurring sugars and provide vitamins, minerals, and fiber that keep us sustained longer and of course, are vital for our overall health.

 

Simple carbs tend to be made up of processed or refined sugars.
